“The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet.”
– Frederick Buechner
Our vision is to live out the calling God has given us. We pursue four goals to make this happen:
1. Meet a real need
Africa is plagued by many spiritual, social and political needs. We still believe that the spiritual need is the cause of all others. That is why we engage in our ministry to reach the hearts with the good news of Jesus Christ. The transformation of society is preceded by the transformation of the hearts.
2. Make the most of the gifts God has given us
God gives us gifts so that we can serve others. Anni wants to use her gifts as a trained social worker, religious teacher and experienced mom to minister to families and children. Timon uses his background as a missionary child in Malawi, his theological studies, and years of volunteer church work to train South African pastors and strengthen churches.
3. Live out our passion
Since our youth, God has laid it on our hearts to be "fishers of men". There is nothing more fulfilling for us than to give our lives for this cause. We want to proclaim the wonderful God we have come to know. That's what we wanted to express with our wedding verse:
"But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds." - Psalm 73:28
4. Let the nations worship Jesus
We join in with God's vision for mission: people from all nations, tribes, peoples and languages should come to know the joy of worshiping Jesus, the Lamb of God.
"After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice: 'Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.'" - Revelation 7:9-10
